Dangerous Goods Services Ltd. provide a retained Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) consultancy service, for fully regulated dangerous goods (as per the statutory requirements laid down in ADR) or an ad-hoc consultancy for businesses whose operations fall outside the scope of requiring a DGSA.
In addition, Dangerous Goods Services Ltd. can provide an SDS due diligence, authoring and review service, in compliance with GB REACH and CLP legislation, and product labels can be reviewed, or authored, with respect to GB CLP, BPR, REACH and the Aerosols and Detergents legislation.
Dangerous Goods Services Ltd. can also provide guidance on the divergence between GB chemical regulations, and those of the EU, along with advice on how to enter EU markets.
Dangerous Goods Services Ltd was founded by Colin Pratt in 2020. We offer businesses who are manufacturing, importing, formulating, transporting or trading chemicals assistance with regulatory strategy and compliance - as well as access to an external DGSA consultancy service for both road freight and maritime transport of dangerous goods to discharge their legal responsibility.
Section 1.8.3.1 of ADR 2023 states the following regarding the requirement for a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor:
“Each undertaking, the activities of which include the consigning or the carriage of dangerous goods by road, or the related packing, loading, filling or unloading shall appoint one or more safety advisers for the carriage of dangerous goods, responsible for helping to prevent the risks inherent in such activities with regard to persons, property and the environment.”
However, there are many exceptions, chemicals, and circumstances for which a DGSA is not required, for example “Limited Quantity” shipments or those undertaken under the “Small Load Exemptions”. Dangerous Goods Services Ltd can verify whether a DGSA is a statutory requirement for your business.
