Colin Pratt is a Chartered Engineer, a certificated Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) (All classes by road), in accordance with ADR Articles 1.8.3.7 & 1.8.3.8; and is qualified to assist with the maritime transport of dangerous goods in accordance with IMDG 41-22.
He has over 20 years’ experience with the Authoring of Safety Data Sheets, and with regulatory affairs within the UK and across the European chemical industry.
Prior to founding Dangerous Goods Services Ltd, Colin's previous role, as a Technical Director, included overall responsibility for the manufacturing, labelling, packaging and consigning of disinfectants, aerosols, surfactants (and other fully regulated dangerous goods) as well as creating Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in all European languages. Colin has also assisted several organisations to develop strategic business plans to mitigate the effects of EU-exit.
Colin is an active member of the Chemical Hazard Communication Society (CHCS), the British Association of Dangerous Goods Professionals (BADGP) and the Chemical Regulations Self Help Group (CRSHG), in addition to being a Member of the Institute of Refrigeration.
Colin is married to Tracey, with 3 grown up children (Chris, Nic and Katherine), and enjoys gardening, DIY and collecting and building model cranes. He is also a member of the Cole Truck Sport (CTS) team, racing a Volvo tractor unit under number 40 (Archie Handy) with a Cummins engine, and an IVECO under number 41 (Simon Cole) with a MAN engine.
